Starting block: backstroke start; swim out with backstroke kicks
ADDITIONAL EXERCISE for school backstroke dive when we have troubles with swimming to the surface with butterfly kicks. During the performance we focus on:
  • start position with bend arms and toes in the water,
  • simultaneous swing with both arms and head tilted backwards,
  • push off backwards at the end of the swing,
  • head bended backwards during the flight,
  • gliding long enough with extended body position and head fixed in between the extended arms,
  • gliding underwater where we control the depth with head and arm position,
  • backstroke kicks to get to the surface on time.
