Starting block: arm swing start; swim out with underwater cycle

ADDITIONAL PRACTICE for school dive when we have troubles with coordinating the swing and the push off. During the performance we focus on:
  • start position with spreaded legs, feet in the width of hips, toes clinging the edge, forward bend and appropriately bended knees,
  • simultaneous swing with extended arms and head and push off,
  • flight and transition into the water with extended body position and head fixed in between the extended arms,
  • gliding deep enough
                                            and
  • long first gliding with arms in front,
  • appropriately wide stroke with out and down movement,
  • eccelerating the stroke,
  • long second gliding with arms by the body,
  • simultaneous body extension with returning arms and kick,gliding underwater where we control the depth with head position,
  • the start of the swimming to the surface on time.
