Backstroke; shaking arms

EXTRA EXERCISE for coordination and approaching the hand entry with relaxed arms. During the performance we focus on:

  • returning the arm relaxed and extended so that we slightly shake it

                                            and

  • fixed head position on the surface in the body extension,
  • relaxed, continuous kicking,
  • hand entry in the line of the shoulder by the same side,
  • scooping the water (start of the stroke) with extended arm,
  • correct arm bending during the stroke,
  • finishing the stroke with forearm movement back to the body,
  • acceleration of the stroke,
  • correct body twisting where we move shoulders back and forth coordinated with the stroke,
  • extended arm when approaching the surface.
