Shallow water: in pairs; strokes; gliding

During the performance we focus on:

  • hand entry in the line of the shoulder by the same side,
  • scooping the water (start of the stroke) with extended arm,
  • correct arm bending during the stroke,
  • finishing the stroke with forearm movement back to the body,
  • acceleration of the stroke,
  • correct body twisting where we move shoulders back and forth coordinated with the stroke,
  • extended arm when approaching the surface,
  • extended position of the gliding arm

                                            and

  • fixed head position on the surface in the body extension.

If the student is less buoyant, the teacher supports his/her thighs or knees.
